West Texas Yarn Trail Launches on Local Yarn Store Day
Something new is stitching its way across West Texas.
We’re so excited to officially launch the West Texas Yarn Trail, a collaboration between independent yarn shops designed to bring our fiber community together — one stop at a time.
The trail begins with two founding shops: The Yarny Way in Lubbock and Abilene Yarn Company in Abilene. Created by shop owners Marni Reecer and Emily McMillan, this project is rooted in a simple idea — that yarn has a way of connecting people, even across long West Texas miles.
How It Works
- Pick up a Yarn Trail Passport at either shop for $1.
- Make a purchase and receive a unique stamp.
- Bring your stamped passport to the next participating shop.
- Enjoy a small thank-you gift as you continue your journey.
Each shop offers its own gift and sets its own terms, keeping the experience flexible and welcoming for everyone.
Why We Created the Yarn Trail
West Texas is full of creativity, kindness, and incredible makers. The Yarn Trail is our way of celebrating that — encouraging road trips, supporting local shops, and creating opportunities for connection within our fiber community.
Whether you’re planning a yarn road trip or simply visiting a nearby shop, every stop is part of the story.
This is just the beginning. As the trail grows, we hope to welcome more shops and more fiber friends along the way.
Shop small. Stitch big.
Follow the yarn across West Texas.
